23/11.: Wine lecture and wine tasting with Wine Minister Mortensen

Thursday evening at 19.30 we are inviting you for an evening of wine at Underbar. The Kadeau group’s chief sommelier, Michael Mortensen, will over the course of one and a half hours introduce you to a world of flavor, pleasure, and maybe even inebriation, as he will shower you in his knowledge on the wine World map, classical and new tendencies throughout the world of wine, and on his – and our – wine philosophy, at nordlandet and within the Kadeau group.
The event will take 1,5 to 2 hours, is priced at DKK 200 per person, and we guarantee that after the event, you will be more enlightened and experienced within the world and flavours of wine, than you were before.

23./24. – 26./11.: 10/11-12/11.: Two or three nights relaxing stay at nordlandet including a wine course and tasting – ”Winter weekend, wine, and welbeing” at just DKK 2950,- per person.

The last of our autumn weekend events will take place during the weekend of week 47. This weekend, you can book a relaxing two or three night stay at the hotel and simultaneously educate yourself in the splendid World of wine. Besides a four course menu in our restaurant on one of the evenings, and a three course menu in our bar/restaurant Underbar on the other evening, Saturday afternoon you will be invited to a wine class, spearheaded by the Kadeau group’s chief sommelier Michael Mortensen. Michael has one of the sharpest palates of the Kingdom, and is also a magnificent speaker, and during the afternoon he will take you through the basics of wine tasting; e.g. How do you taste wine? How do you speak about it? What is the difference between tannin and fruit acidity? How does (different ways of) ageing affect wine? What characterizes a light vs. a heavy wine? And lots more …

 

The second part of the afternoon will take place as a lecture on the relationship between food and wine. Through a series of examples of classical food and wine combinations, Michael will explain the thoughts and flavours behind iconic food and wine pairings.

Throughout the whole session, there will be rich opportunities for tasting both wines, dishes, and combinations, as well as asking the wine professor a ton of questions.

Thursday, November 30th, we are ringing the Christmas bells in Underbar. At 20.00 we are inviting you in for a good ol’ game of bingo with red table cloths, a live yeller, Christmas pastry, and big prizes! Christmas day we are open for a cozy time in Underbar. You will most likely have a stomach full of Christmas food, a hangover, or a full week or month of family stress, which needs to be digested in a fitting manner.
